I was born with a hammer in my hand. Even as a kid I was always designing forts and go karts and then building them. As you can probably guess in college I studied architecture and a little bit of contract law for general contractors. So, in our wonderful town of Sandpoint, all through the 70s and 80s I greatly enjoyed the process of purchasing land, designing homes and then going out and building them.

In the mid 80s I decided to get my real estate license as my body was starting to complain every time I crawled up and down a ladder. Construction is a young mans sporttime to use my brain. By concentrating on developing, commercial and investment properties, I learned, sometimes the hard way, all about planning & zoning as well as all the inherent pitfalls and issues that have the potential of making purchasing real estate less than pleasant.

Shortly there after I found that people were asking for my help and knowledge when buying or selling. There isnt much I dont know about the ins and outs of real estate in our county. It helps keep both of us out of trouble. My business philosophy was and is pretty simpleknow EXACTLY what you are getting up front and take the time you need BEFORE you make it yours. Probably not a bad idea for most anything.

One last thing, if it matters. I was formerly an owner-partner in this company. Its a great company, so I stayedbut, when my girls became teenagers, which I will admit was a while ago, I sold my interest to make time for the most important people in my life. I like to think the time spent helped make them the independent and beautiful women they are today.
